WHERE JAPANESE RITUAL MEETS MODERN PRECISION
WHAT IS THE JAPANESE HEAD SPA AT COLOUR BAR HAIR?
The Japanese Head Spa Ritual is an immersive scalp purification and de-stress ceremony inspired by authentic Japanese traditions.
Designed to restore balance to both scalp and nervous system, the experience begins with a detailed scalp analysis, allowing our expert therapists to tailor the treatment to your individual needs. Using the
exquisitely luxurious Shu Uemura Art of Hair Japanese products, combined with precision cleansing, deep hydration, and therapeutic massage techniques, this ritual detoxifies, revitalizes, and delivers profound
relaxation.
Over time, it supports optimal scalp health, enhances hair vitality, promotes long-lasting color, and provides deep stress relief.
Each ceremony is performed on our Takara Belmont YUME Spa beds - engineered in Japan for ergonomic support and total sensory immersion - allowing the body to fully surrender into comfort.
Rooted in centuries-old Japanese spa philosophy, this is more than a treatment.
It is a complete reset for body, mind, and hair.

Will the Head Spa affect my hair color/keratin?
All ingredients are safe for treated hair. However, if you have had any chemical service within one week before your Head Spa appointment, color or keratin may slightly lift during the detox process. We recommend waiting at least one week after any chemical treatment before receiving a Head Spa.
Can I receive a Head Spa after keratin?
Yes. We recommend waiting at least one week after your keratin treatment before receiving a full Head Spa to allow the smoothing treatment to properly settle. Once set, our pH-balanced formulations will not affect the longevity of your keratin results.
Can I receive a Japanese Head Spa if I have extensions?
If extensions are installed, a full Japanese Head Spa cannot be performed. The service requires clear access to the scalp. A Head Spa is recommended between extension services after removal to exfoliate and prepare the scalp before reinstallation.
Is it suitable for all hair types?
Yes. Treatments are customized for color-treated, dry, oily, sensitive, or chemically processed hair. The focus of the service is the scalp.
Is a blow-dry included?
60- and 90-minute ceremonies include a finished blowout. The 30-minute ceremony may be upgraded with styling.
I am sensitive to noise or overstimulation. Is this relaxing?
Yes. A Quiet Ceremony option is available with minimal conversation in a calm, odor-free setting designed to support nervous system balance.
How often should I schedule it?
For maintenance: once per month. For scalp imbalance: every 2–3 weeks initially.
Do you offer series packages?
Yes. 3-, 6-, and 12-session series are available for guests committed to ongoing scalp health.
Can my friend and I get the Head Spa done at the same time?
Simultaneous appointments may be available based on bed and specialist availability. We recommend booking in advance to reserve side-by-side or back-to-back appointments.
Is the Head Spa safe for expecting mothers?
Our Head Spa uses professional, gentle formulations and is considered safe during pregnancy. However, because the service requires guests to lay flat on their back for the duration of the treatment, we recommend consulting your doctor prior to booking. If lying flat is uncomfortable, it may be best to wait until after delivery.
